About the Author
Alberto Boretti is a research professor of mechanical engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. After he received his PhD from the University of Florence, Italy, in 1988, he was a senior researcher and project and team manager in the automotive industry for 17 years. Within the FIAT group, he has been involved in many racing engine projects, mostly with Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, and Fiat Auto Corse. His last position in industry was manager of four-stroke engines for Aprilia racing in 2006. Within the university setting, he supports teaching and research in motorsport. During his career he has worked on many different racing engines, including F1, F3, super touring, rally car, and Superbike and MotoGP motorcycle engines.

Together with Donny Deutsch, a self-made advertising mogul, and Alberta Wilson, who overcame substance abuse and poverty to become a Christian educator, they provide the focus for a look at the Vietnam War, the women's movement and the attraction of some boomers to fundamentalist religion. What Gillon uniquely accomplishes is to illuminate how pervasive boomer influence continues to be in the 21st century. He touches on iconic events and influencesâ€"Catch-22, Woodstock, the Cold War, the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther Kingâ€"but he is refreshingly unnostalgic about them. Gillon makes especially interesting points when exploring the continuity from the boomers to Gen X (born between 1965 and 1976) and Gen Y (1977â€"1995). His assessment of the boomer is generally favorableâ€"boomers did not abandon their core values of self-reliance, entitlement and idealism, but have applied those values to the changing challenges they have faced. The result, he says, is that "we are all boomers now."

Steve Gillon has taught at both Yale University and Oxford University and is currently a professor of history at the University of Oklahoma. He is also the Resident Historian of the History Channel, where he hosts a Sunday morning show, HistoryCenter, and appears in numerous specials, including "History vs. Hollywood." About the Author
Gerhard Ziegler (Grad. Eng.), was born in 1939, and has been working in the area of power system protection with siemens AG in Erlangen/Nuremberg, Germany for a period of 35 years.

He was active in the areas of product support, application and project planning, marketing and sales, on a world-wide basis. He retired in 2002 but continues to work as consultant.

G. Ziegler has published numerous national and international contributions in the are of power system protection. he served in International organisations for many years.

From 1993 to 2001 he was the German delegate to the IEC TC95 (measuring relays and protection equipment). He is past chairman of the Study Committee 34 (protection and local control) and Honorary Member of CIGRE.
